City 4D: Modeling the Matrix for Development

City4D is a program that focuses on partnering with 4 entities of the city that the JCDC have deemed necessary to work cohesively for healthy Urban Growth: creativity, capital, community, and children.

Architects and planners (creativity) are critical to this equation. Trained to understand the relationships between built form and social and environmental welfare, they act as stewards of the remaining three elements. Recognizing the potential for economic development (capitol), the holistic impact of social interactions (community), and planning for future generations (children) are all responsibilities of this discipline. Following extensive interactive mapping and modeling, the JCDC will publish a quarterly journal and maintain a website in regards to this work; each area of interest will be the focus of a different journal publication.
